Just wondering when you purchase the Caanoo, does it already come with all the emulators in it or do you have to do it yourself? And what are all the emulators that run well on it?

I have been watching vids on youtube and saw all the emulators in the system. It's just that I don't know if they were already there when it was purchased.

My brother is into the Caanoo scene. He's working on an NES emulator for it.

So far the Sega Genesis emulator is the only one on there that seems to work full speed.

I'm almost 100 percent sure that you have to install everything. It's definitely not a game system for lazy people like me, YET, but in a year or two it may be awesome.

The SNES and NES emulators on it are not up to full speed and IMO unplayable. The Neo CD emulator works well for KoF98. I'm not sure about the other games.

Eventually the Caanoo will be awesome. If they get Mame, all the NES stuff working properly and support drivers for USB Saturn pads and things it might be the ultimate 'airplane ride' system. I want to sit back with a Saturn pad and play some Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold while sippin' on a beer.

What I'm worried about is GPH's release schedule. 4 years from GP32 to GP2X (admittedly with a change in company), 2 years from GP2X to Wiz, and 1 year from Wiz to Canoo. On top of that the GP2X went through 1 revision, so pretty much since GPH has been making systems they've EOLed one and released another each year. What this also means is that devs are giving up. I don't think the Wiz even got full support for emulators. A couple might give it a shot, but realistically are you going to put the effort into writing for a system that won't be produced in a year?

Compare this to the Dingoo A320, which has solid support and isn't looking like it'll be replaced any time soon. I'd say as far as portable emulator systems go, the A320 is the best in terms of being well supported and produced.
