Urgent Quick 6 slot question!!!HELP

Hi,
Ive got a 6 slot set up on a supergun but I want to use the joystick ports on the 6 slot and not on the supergun. At present the ports on board the 6 slot dont work with the neo sticks.. do i have to setup something in the settings or dip switch?
Also how do i go into the test mode on the 6 slot if there is no test switch?

I thought the control ports were in parallel with the stick inputs ??

For an external test switch, momentary grounding of M on the jamma/mvs edge connect will do it.
