MVS Samurai Shodown IV dipswitches

Hi! In Samurai Shodown IV, could someone tell me what does the "SP" setting in the "VIOLENCE/SP" softdip? It can be set to "WITH" or "WITHOUT" and is disabled by default, it's written on the dipsheet it's related to the "Mortal Attack" but I don't know more... help

In other words, what's the difference between "VIOLENCE/SP = LV3/WITHOUT" and "VIOLENCE/SP = LV3/WITH".

If someone could tell me, I'ld be really happy!

Doe it not add the extra move to slice your opponent under certain conditions?

I`ve been playing the game like mad lately but still need to adjust those settings
