Some AES carts don't work in MVS mode!

A few months ago I got a modded Neo Geo complete with Neo-Geo.com bios chip installed. When selecting Dev MVS mode, my KOF 2000 and KOF 95 carts would display and freeze with some red text displayed across the screen.

The message begins: This cart is only to be used on official MVS boards. Or something like that.

My other two games (KOF 2001 and KOF 94) work completely fine.

Since then I've noticed that the connectors at the bottom of my KOF 2000 and 95 carts move up inside the cart slightly and then back out a bit when turned over.

Could this be the problem and could my carts be counterfit (coversions)?. The copy of KOF 2000 I bought is new and the connectors only move very slightly.

Please help as this has got me a little worried.

There is nothing wrong with your carts. Around '95 SNK began encoding ALL their carts to lock up when it detected bootleg MVS hardware. Since the debug bios is not true MVS hardware, the cart will freeze with that red text. If you want to play a game like that in MVS mode, boot it up in the home version mode first, then start the game. While the game is playing, go back into the menu and set MVS mode on. From then on the game will play in MVS mode and you can add credits just fine. Once you return to the title screen, though, the game will again lock you out if you stay in MVS mode. All games that SNK themselves made from '95 on have this type of coding. No other game companies did this, however, so you will have no problems with games from other companies.
