My JPN Real Bout Special MVS just went crazy, I have no idea what happened to it.

I loaded up my JPN Real Bout Special MVS the other day and it came up in what looks to be some sort of debug mode. In the upper left corner of the screen there are all these options (Control, Sound, Date and so on). There is no sound and when I hit the Player 1 start button a screen comes up that says "VS COM/VS P2". Special moves no longer work, the in game music is gone and actually playing through the game is nigh impossible now. I tried it in all 6 slots in my cab and I get the same results every time. I even poped open the case of the cart to check for EPROMS and it's all 100% SNK in there. All of my other carts work fine. Anyone have any ideas as to why my RBS cart has gone stupid?

try cleaning the contacts, could be corruption of the program rom caused by dirt.

Gave the contacts a good cleaning but still no use. Now the Game level for RBS is at 1 when all the other games are at level 4 (and I can't adjust the levels of the games due to the fact that the test button in my cab is not wired), some of the buttons are not responding and the game is pretty much unplayable. Any ideas?

Ahhh, you just said the magic word... er sentence... or symptom. Sounds like your save data is corrupt! Turn off the system, flip all dip switches up and then turn the system on. You will see something like Work RAM Test... Leave it on for 15 seconds or so... then turn off the MVS... flip all the switches back off (or leave freeplay on, whatever) and start back up... should fix the problem,

Nick, the memory clear worked like a charm. RBS plays fine now. Thanks for the help. I owe ya one!
