At MAGFest 2011 (January 13-16) in Virginia, there will be at least 1 candy cab running a Neo Geo MVS one-slot; there will also be MVS gaming tournaments. Also, last year, someone brought an AES; I'm unsure if that's happening this year, though.

Even if you have MVS and AES access all the time, MAGFest will be fantastic. There will be lots of consoles, tournaments, bands, and about three-dozen arcade machines. If you're able to come, you definitely should.

I have some friends from out of state that I plan on meeting at MAGFest. It would be nice to meet some forum members up there too.

I will be there. Gonna be selling video games at my tables most the time.
I have 6 tables and will have tons of games (import and domestic) for sale.

If anyone is interested in attending, you gotta register in advance. There is a 3000 attendance cap set this year and they are gonna hit it.

Wish I could make it, same as every year. I really hope now that Southwest is expanding that they will be able to fly from Long Island to Reagan. That way all I need to do is get a cheap flight and a taxi. I wish they would change dates. The biggest problem is it's not in the summer. My friend who usually comes with me to con's is a teacher..in New Hampshire. So unless he gets a flight out there it's impossible for him to get there and back to teach when school opens up after the New Year's break.

There is a free shiuttle from DCA to the hotel.

Why not take a bus down? Bolt and Megabus can be pretty cheap.

Some of the crew from Hampton Roads will be throwing down a 757Labs booth. We plan to discuss the Inviso-Frogger mod and a Pong game played off a laser projected onto a screen.

Anyone else going to MAGfest? I thought the forums had a ton of NoVA/VA/DC members? I've never been to MAGfest or VA myself...someone show me the ropes!

I'll be there. If someone has Metal Slug 1 I'd love to play that. I haven't played it on a Neo Geo since 1998 at a movie theater.

Right now Wedoca has 11 candys set for Mag (thanks to all, you know who you are). The last time I saw the cab main list, we were at over a hundred arcade units. We are bringing a Neo 29 and a big red was donated years ago, so there is some NG love.

See you fools in a week!

I'm planning on going, although I'll probably only be able to make it on Saturday.

Metal Slug (and probably some of its sequels) will be there.

They had no 1 day passes for sale this year. Anyway, the event is already sold out. They had a 3000 person capacity that they can't go over.

Chris, if you still were going to head up this way you're welcome to play some pinball. Just added a LOTR to the collection. Since it's a 3 day weekend I'll probably stop by the pinball museum for a few hours as well.

I'm hoping they have something set up at magfest this year besides a busted up EM machine.

Or getting drunk around the festival. :buttrock:
It was a good event, totally worth grabbing a room at the hotel so you can stumble down to play the machines, wander into concerts, and eventually back up before sunrise.

There was the old Search and Destroy I believe you're talking about, then Gorgar, Dungeon & Dragon's, then Revenge from Mars. There is discussion of more pins next time around, which would be nice if they can break 10.

Yeah, registration was tight towards the end. I registered a good while in advanced but ended up needed an extra group ticket the day before the sell-out.

The pins they had were Nitro Ground Shaker (old Bally game, but NOT an EM), the others you mentioned, and Terminator 2. Gorgar and T2 were broken for most of the weekend.
