Hello,

I'm working on a new SuperGun for myself and have a couple of quick questions that I was hoping someone might be able to help me with.

I want to add a power switch to my Gun which in the past simply meant putting a switch on the AC line. I am now using an external power supply though which basically feeds me a connector that has the +5v,+12v,Com,NC,and Ground. How should I go about adding a switch to my Gun with this setup? I'm thinking that I would have to use a DPDT switch placed on the +12v and +5v lines, or wire the switch directly to the power supply.

Any ideas?

Also, I want to add a simply LED light to indicate when it's getting power. Stupid question, but do you use the +5v and Ground to attach to the LED's leads? +12v and Ground?

Thanks!

LEDs run on 2-3.3 V, not 5 or 12 usually. a resistor will get the voltage of the 5V line down to the right level.. for a 2 V LED, you need approx. 150 ohm, for 3.3 approx. 75 ohm. ultrabright and blue LEDs usually need 3.3V, standard green or red ones 2V.

I would switch the ground on the power input.

i do not know much about leds< but they have different voltage inputs for different types.

and yes, a DPDT switch on the 12 and 5V lines will do.
