How good can my MVS picture look?

I have a MVS cab and although Im sure its seen its days, I cannot get my monitor picture to be anywhere NEAR the vibrancy or clarity of the screenshots here at neo-geo.com. I know that they are probably ROM shots, but Im still viewing them, so I would think that it would be possible. I will buy a new monitor, if I have to, though I would prefer not to, if those kinds of images ARE obtainable. Its just that recently every time I see a neo cab anywhere, the picture is not much better than mine, and I have seen three so far, but is that just because they are also in their golden years? crying

you won't get a picture as 'perfect' as the screenshots here, but a good and well working monitor should give you bright, clear colors and a sharp picture. see if you can find a RGB capable monitor like an amiga one somewhere, and hook it up to that to see the difference, before shelling out for a new arcade monitor.

You can adjust your R,G,B Color guns on your monitor or just get it rejuvinated by mabey Mtn. Coin in Portland.

I've never been to the Porland location but they have one in Seattle and they can rejuvinate it for you or even install a new cap kit.

My first neo cab had a bad screen, after I had it tuned up by a repair man it looked like brand new. All they did was just turn those knobs here and there, there was nothing to it.
