Since literally EVERY other Neo Geo game that came out on the European VC came to the USA, I think it's safe we'll see this hit the USA Virtual Console at some point. ^_^

Sorta odd it wasn't on the Wii Data East Arcade Classics (along with the 2 Neo games on that collection: Street Hoop and Magical Drop 3), but hey, it's coming anyway (and I love 2D platformers), so I'm happy.

In just 2 months (November and December 2010),
we got FIVE Neo Geo games added to the *USA* VC :-) :

- Street Hoop
- Spin Master
- Magical Drop 2
- Magical Drop 3 and
- Karnov's Revenge (Fighter's History Dynamite)

I was shocked when I first got my Wii and I bought a NG game and it came up in 50hz. Absolutely fucking unbelievable.

Whoever made the decision to release the games in this shit format should be shot. I hope all European and Australian people have boycotted the VC, but most people are probably too stupid to even notice the difference.

Virtual Console has had few and far between releases for a while now. it's a real shame.

Er, I'm not sure if 2010 there is meant to refer to the number of Neo Geo VC releases in Japan or in the USA.. but either way, it's wrong.


In 2010, Japan got *9* new Neo Geo VC releases and North America got *10*!

To put this as blunt as possible. Wikipedia is WRONG.
And they are very often wrong on MANY things video game related.

24 neogeo virtual console titles have been released in all 3 areas (JAPAN, USA, & EUROPE)

USA & EUROPE also have an additional 5 data east neogeo titles.

JAPAN also has 1 more title, world heroes perfect which was just released.

2007 Japan = 9 / USA = 7 / Europe = 8
2008 Japan = 10 / USA = 12 / Europe = 11
2009 Japan = 3 / USA = 0 / Europe = 0
2010 Japan = 2 / USA = 10 / Europe = 9
2011 Japan = 1 / USA = 0 / Europe = 1

So Japan actually gets the fewest titles? Why didn't they get the Data East ones?

I agree with your Totals for the Europe and USA Neo Geo VC (29 games for each one).

Although I was right about there being 10 USA NEO GEO VC releases in the USA in 2010 (and thus so was wikipedia - they may be occasionally wrong, but are still a very useful source of info

I checked the Japanese release dates for the 5 Data East games I think you're talking about at nintendolife.com (Magical Drop 2 and 3, Fighter's History Dynamite (Karnov's Revenge), Miracle Adventure (Spinmaster), and Dunk Dream (Street Hoop /Slam) and all 5 matched the wikipedia dates!

(I had to go into each game's page to find the Jap dates btw)

Maybe the Japanese official site hasn't been updated enough? or maybe they don't count the Data East games for some reason?

Unless you were looking at a different official Japanese VC site, wikipedia was correct!

I totally agree...much rather having something tangible, but I am also looking forward to Arcade Classics Vol.2 when it finally arrives.

Seriously: Do we really need to deal with this 50hz shit in times of HDTV? Everybody I know owns at least a small LCD TV, even my parents and they're ancient. But thats Nintendo for you, always ten years behind, see their online capabilities.

Ten? More like 20.. Every TV since the early 90's has done 60hz. The SNES and MD should have supported it.

Possible. Most people here bought 50Hz TVs because they were cheaper.
