Moving my 6-slot neo cab around today. Working perfectly before...now when i turn it on slots 1 and 2 work perfectly but 3w, 4, 5 and six are buggered. Akthough the game loads and I hear the sound the graphics are all scrambled. The cab reads the slots fine as when i go into software settings it tells me what is where perfectly fine.

What have I done? What can I do to save it? I've tried cleaning but its not the problem. Is there any way I can rescue my latter 4 slots?

Please help....

This type of problem can sometimes be caused by one bad cart. Try one of the carts in slot one in every single slot... meaning, put only 1 game in slot one... then test it in each slot to see if it is a game problem or a board problem.

If it is what I expect, you will just have to find the one that is screwing the rest of them up and give it a good cleaning.

I've just trie this now and unfortunately no joy- a good clean cart that works in slots 1 and 2 still shows up with sever video problems in slots 3-6.

I'm guessing its a board problem then so what should I do next?

If it's anything like the 4 slot, make sure the 2 boards are FIRMLY pressed together. You know where those white connectors are? The 4 slot has 4, I'm guessing the 6 slot has... 6. make sure every one of those is pressed together as much as humanly possible. I used to have a similar problem with my 2nd slot on a 4 slot until I made sure the connectors were firmly together. One was just SLIGHTLY loose and when I pushed them back together, BAM! it worked.

Good luck!

er- looking at the board I can't quite see what you mean- can you be specific as to where these white connectors are or am I being totally dense.

I can post a pic if needs be.

btw- after having left the board for two days I came back to try it out and all the slots worked perfectlt- then a very gentle knock to the cab (like p[ressing the button down) caused the problem to return...

You see those 4 (not 6) long white connectors along the edges? That's what he meant.

So the 6 slot only had 4 connectors as well? Interesting. But yeah, that's what I meant.

I found that one day slot 2 wouldn't work. I tried tons of carts in it with no luck. I took it apart to swap the BIOS and amazingly it worked. I kept picking the board up by the metal cover. After a few times it stopped working and that's when I realized what the issue was. The white connectors were slightly separated.

Well, only the older 4-slots have 4 connectors. The <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCBs/files/4-slot%20newer%20version%20NEO-MVH%20MV4FT1.jpg" target="_blank">newer ones</a> have only 3.

If you notice, there are screw holes at the sides of each connector: it would be a good idea to add screws for further stability.

Actually, that was the thing. The screws were, at the time of my putting it back together, as tight as I could make them (without trying to damage the baord that is). I guess picking it up by the metal cover wasn't the best of ideas, and I don't do that anymore.

But thanks for the pointer.
