Neo Geo for everyone!!!

Below is an example of how my MVS motherboard is setup at the moment. I was just wondering if this is the cheapest way of getting to play Neo Geo games?

Here is what it would cost if you wanted to play MOTW.

Items needed:

1. Neo Geo one slot MVS (w/ Joystick ports) - $100 (Ebay)

2. Fully wired JAMMA harness - $12 (Ebay)

3. AT power supply unit - $10 (Electrical retailer)

4. Extra wire (For stereo sound) - $3 (Electrical retailer)

5. RGB Scart Lead - $7 (Electrical retailer)

6. Resistor and cable connectors - $3 (Electrical retailer)

7. 2 Hori Joysticks - $50 (Game Choice Club)

8. MOTW MVS cartridge - $110 (Cosmicco)

Total* - $295


* Not including delivery costs and the labour used to get the setup working


The unit is connected to my Sony TV exqiped with an RGB scart socket (most modern TVs have an RGB scart socket as standard.)

It may not be the greatest looking or most profesional but it does one hell of a fine job! MAS Haaaa!! And if you are one a budget then I think this is the cheapest way to experience this great system!!

One final question - Does anyone know if the NGCD pads work on MVS boards?

Unfortunately a scart port isn't standard on TV's outside europe and that includes a Country like Australia (my location) and it is a pal nation aswell. Essentially most people here have to get an additional RGB-NTSC converter..

Though it is possible to mod your TV set to recieve scart (rgb) as most are of a universal design (Just removing and adding additional interfaces depending on the market they are to be sold in). I got this done to a former tv of mine and am currently waiting for the schematics to my current TEAC to come in at a local electronics shop and to proceed from there..

rather just buy a home system

im sure the ngcd pads will work on a
mvs system.because the pin connections
are identical with the arcade controllers.
of course it requires a 15 pin port
on your mak/arcade gun converter
