not often i use the word "charming" to describe games either but it's suitable

visually one of the most interesting (by interesting i mean best) DS titles

the inability to not being able to target specific enemies bugged the hell out of me at first but i quickly overlooked it once the more strategic elements of the game started to open up

between all the crowns ( = jobs), the unique upgrading system, and the adorable (in a good way!) graphical style i'm enjoying this game far more than i originally would have thought

I just started playing it as well. I LOVED the remake of Final Fantasy III on DS, but like the original Famicom version a bit better because the battles felt more fast paced and some of the strange graphical changes that were made were kind of terrible. 4 Warriors of Light has a great graphical style and the battles play out REALLY fast.

I'm not very far in the game yet, but so far I'm loving it. I recommend it to people who like the old Final Fantasy games and the FFIII and IV remakes on DS (same people made it.)

Lonesage - The only reason why the name is cool is because it's a reference to Final Fantasy 1. I tend not to understand if people are joking or not, so :eek_2:

I talked to a three people who tried the game out last night in my D&D group and they all HATED it.

These were the gripes:
-Item system is terrible.
-Graphics are terrible.
-The game is too boring.

I personally like all three things people complained about. I just got to the second town and dungeon and I think I'm going to be into this one for the long haul. The music and old school feel are awesome.

I add this to FFIII remake and Dragon Quest IX as a must have game for the DS.

i love the graphics but i can see them being an acquired taste

the item inventory thing is a viable gripe but just not one i agree with

i don't see the story being different than any other RPG i've played but i'm always very easy to please when it comes to RPG storylines

my only major complaint i have is that for a good portion of the game your party is divided so you only end up with a party of three (often the third party member is a random character you meet along the way) or less so you don't get to play with the Crown system as much you'd like to

I've heard bad things on GAF and CAG about this. After Ys and Legend of Heroes III is done, I'll be desperate for an RPG, but not THAT desperate.

Hmmm...

I guess people don't appreciate a new way of doing magic and unique graphics. If they don't continue this series I won't be too sad, I'll probably just go back and play the FF3 and FF4 remakes again.

I really think this is one of the best RPGs to come out in a while. The last RPG I loved was Dragon Quest IX. This isn't as good, but it comes close!

Kinda wonder if they'll make sequels to this and turn it into its own series.

I've been playing this game since release, and I've had good fun with it. My only problem with it is that, early on at least, everything the party does only seems to make things worse. The art style is beautiful though.

The complaints against this game are ridiculous.

Charming is the word that came to mind, too.

The game knows exactly what it is and does it well.

A simple game with a great feeling. Not going to read the reviews. Graphics complement the music so nicely.

'A cat joined the party!'

Shit, guess I gotta get this too. I miss old-fashioned Final Fantasy, so a new 'old' game would be really awesome. Gotta beat DQIX first though.
