Are there ways to use the AES joysticks on a computer? The plug-in looked familiar, but do you need to convert them at all?

I've broken three of the four arrow keys off my laptop's keyboard already, and a PSX-style joypad just isn't the same.

Im sure there's a faq or something out there.

Or you could just buy the hardware. <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

You know I could flame this thread, but it would be so easy it's not even worth it... <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

The fact that the Neo stick has a db15 connector doesn't mean that you can plug it onto the PC serial port as that's female, just like the connector on the Neo stick cable...
Interfacing a Neo stick with a PC is exactly the same as interfacing an arcade stick: you have to provide an interface, like the pcb of a pc-compatible joypad...
A while back I've built such an adapter for a friend, using a Sidewinder pad...

What a pity...looks like you're going to have to give up emulation exclusively and experience the realization of an MVS or Home System..

You guys are too biased...he may or may not be what you think: for instance, the Neo stick-to-PC adapter I've built was for a member here who owns over 90 home carts...still he also plays on emus (mainly for hi-score purposes).

POST COUNT is a dead giveaway..another clue was that he's already damaged three arrow keys...just a lil' sarcasm going on.. nobody is being too harsh.

I just use my PC now 'till I can get a Neo. They're a bit expensive.

So, are there faq's telling me how to make the interface?

You may want to goto the WANTED section and be able to pick up one for cheap or hire somebody to build you one.
I'm not familiar with any FAQ's but I know of few who have built them.. I may even need one in the future for sprite ripping etc.

It's not just for Neo games. I have other games that are best with joysticks on my comp, and I'd prefer a Neo stick. Like Williams Arcade Classics, MK2, and some side scrollers.

you could build an adapter without destroying a fine pad :) . Head over to http://documents.epanorama.net/documents/joystick/pc_circuits.html and follow the instructions how to build an atari->pc adapter (which is similar). Found it yesterday, tried it today, works. Of course you have to use the neo-pinout instead of ataris
