I bought a euro sony vega monitor and it has scart rgb inputs. I know that the japan scart connector is different, but can it be modified. Also my monitor is a multi, so voltage is no problem, but if i use a euro scart connector does my game console ( cube, dc ,ps2, xbox, and the almighty NEO GEO, have to be pal. It should not matter right. Any info is appreciated............NEONUT

It doesn't need to be PAL.

You just have to stick a "TRUE" RGB Scart cable and you'll be able to play all your consoles at full speed, full color and with an unmatchable picture quality. :p

So all I have to do is buy a euro scart cable for every system I have and all my US systems will work. The reason I ask this is, someone told me that the US game cube had to be modded. THnx for the info I will order the cables.........NEONUT

vega monitor? Do you mean a Sony WEGA TV? If so, this will take NTSC.

Most euro SCART monitors will be amiga-style monitors, like the phillips 8833. These will play NTSC in black-and-white, if you're lucky. If you're not you'll get a squiggly mess.

Or do you mean a PC monitor with BNC RGB jacks? This would in theory do anything.

Yes, it is a sony multisystem, with 2 scart ports, av, and s-video. The only problem is i had to rewire my japnese cable to the euro configuration. But the s-video is brighter, ans clearer than the scart rgb. Is the wiring wrong,i went by the diagaram on gamex. I thought the scart rgb is the best almost arcade quality. Ant info........NEONUT

Best is component, but no old game system supports this out the box (yes I know game cube and most likely xbox do!). RGB is next best. HOWEVER, not a lot of people know this - with some consoles a better picture is achieved through S-VHS! This tended to be the case with N64s. Of course, this could be down to poor leads. If you get some decent OFC cable & gold plated connectors you might get a better signal. Of course, in some cases its down to how the console outputs, or how the S-vid is obtained. With Neo, this is adjustable by changing a resistor :)

thnx for all the help eggplant but it seems to me i am gonna stick with the mvs cab o own. Nothing seems to compare. I will wire a din pin to the video and to other consoles I know it works with the ps2 and cube, i only have to adust the brightness per system though. Thnx again.......NEONUT

I thought I read somewhere that the gamecube doesn't output RGB as standard?

Maybe I imagined it.
