I'd assume that only those who learned to play the game on the arcade version were the ones who initially made a big deal about it. Then probably came a bunch of people who complained though they never even played the game before. Then again, Cave sounded pretty pissed about the way it came out, so who knows...

I have it... the loading is really bad when you pop the disc in and when going in and out of the option screen. Once you actually start the game it doesn't load ever again and it's fine.

I have heard the "white label" (PS2 version included on the disc) has some bugs. The replay and leaderboards are screwed to I believe.

It's really not that horrible. Just set you options and save it so you never have to mess with it again. After that the only really negative is the initial loading. Once in the black label game everything is AOK.

The black label isn't RADICALLY different from the regular (PS2) version though. There is a patch that has been a long time coming... but it is suppose to still come out and fix these issues. You can hold you breath on that one if you want.

A patch is supposedly going to be released very soon, which is expected to fix almost all of the problems.

Yeah, the main differences between the black and white label versions, based on what I've played of each, is that black label lets you choose a 1 loop game (so you can face Hibachi without going through the second loop) and gives you more hypers.

It's not worth buying as the practice modes--the main reason for wanting a port, are completely useless. There's long loading times as well.

The patch will determine whether it's worth buying in the end.

The main part of the port for me was the Black Label, and not having to buy the PCB. I was curious to play the BL but not enough to buy the PCB.

Despite what everyone says about loading times. Its long initially but I don't mind it.

The game plays just fine to me. The port made me want to buy the PCB. Which I'm hoping to score sometime in the near future.

Both ports play just fine. Yeah the loading times are a bit of a pain at the start of the game, but once you have your settings saved and you know the game in and out (as far as options, menus and stuff like that) then it really isn't that big of a deal. The replays on the 360 port are worth the hassle.

DOJ is one of my favorite cave games and I have played all 3 formats, PCB, PS2 and 360 and I don't mind the ports at all, of course there's always gonna be the people hating on the ports but as always that's a debate full of holes. If the patch comes out and it ends up like the Ketsui port that would be nice but if it doesn't it's not a big deal.

Any form of DOJ will do, so get the damn game already!

Also forgot to mention that you can't check out any replays of any mode.

Not being able to use practice mode is a big issue, regardless of the loading times.

I definitely need to get it for my PS2. I've had the PS2 since early spring but only have one game for it. Sucks to be poor.

The PS2 version is good enough for me. No need to have to go online for this.

No, you can't watch downloaded replays--and no, you can't use practice mode unless you're perfectly happy with going into Stage 2/3/4/5/2-1/etc with default power/rank.

Thanks for making a fool out of yourself, I guess. Couldn't pay people to do that these days.
