Here is an e-mail that I sent to Happ about a Cable that NeoGML told me to get. I trust GML because he seems to know what he's doing when it comes to electronic wiring.

Here is the e-mail. If anyone can tell me anything else about the cable mentioned it would be very nice! =)

I am trying to gather the parts needed to make a homemade Neo-Geo Cart System Controller (the large arcade style kind). Seeing as I already know where do buy my pushbuttons and joysticks, all I need to know now is where to find the Cable. I am looking for a "FEMALE 15 Pin D-Sub" Cable. Please e-mail me with information on how to order that part. A responce would be highly appreciated.

well, might be easier for you to get a 15 pin female Sub-D plug (gotta look for one without the screw holes and metal frame, tho) and some simple 10 wire cable.

Get one off an old stick unit - a CD control pad (yuk) is ideal. Alternatively, a PC-style connector from your fave electronics shop (maybe radio shack?) and you'll have to slightly modify it to fit <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I talked to Chris Ray about what I would need, and he said, instead of the "15 Pin D-Sub" cable, I should just get a "Standard Joystick cable" and lop off the Male connector. Would this work?

that all 15 pins have a wire to them, and not just the few pins that are actually used.

Why pay extra for a joystick cable and cut the end off? Just buy a length of 15-way cable!

Any good electronics supplier will stock it, look for rounded 15 way computer cable. Then attach a plug.

Unless of course the connector on the cable is exactly right!!!
