Anyone have these? Im wanting some honest opinions about them.

I Wish Xbox 360 and PS3 were making Rail shooters.
I do like being able to use my LCD TV

I keep forgetting about the L.A Machine Guns/Gunblade NY combo pack, that's a day one for me. I played the hell out of both of them. I'm still pissed off that my local Dave and Busters got rid of LA, but they still have Brave Firefighters. I hope Sega will release a Virtua Cop collection to get VC3 on a home console. That's one badass game.

I used my 20 dollar off coupon on Amazon for Sin and Punishment, so I should get it Thursday at the latest, can't wait to play that with the Wii-Mote and Nunchuck. There's another game on the VC called Zombie Panic in Wonderland that they say is decent, but if you don't own it your better off dropping points on Wild Guns, which I plan to get because the price for the cart has skyrocketed in recent years.

Yeah Its a day one purchase for me too.

I hope the Console systems Like Xbox 360 and PS3
dont forget about Rail shooters going forward.

hard for me to believe that Wii is the only one doing much with the genre.

Some of the HD games that could be for those consoles would be awesome.

HoTD: Overkill

I really enjoyed the soundtrack [coming to a thread near you].

. . . and the "screamer" boss fight presentation and music works perfectly together - very memorable.

It's a silly fun game - nothing to take seriously. It's short ("that's it?"), and there's not much reason to come back to it. How well can you line up the visible cursor on the screen with someone's head? This is no duck hunt. It's a guilty pleasure.

That's about all you can say - you can probably get it for 10$ - compared to the price of a movie for mindless entertainment, that's fine. If you're looking for something more than entertainment - look elsewhere. The weapons are imbalanced with the score system, so you really can't even go that far with the game beyond completing it. Play it once or twice, and you've probably got what you can out of it - shelve it and come back to it later or play it at game parties.

That said - I enjoyed it much more than many other recent games I've played. There's no pretentious (over)design - see and destory - few risks, simple rewards.

All of the games you listed (except for Umbrella Chronicles) are awesome. Make sure you pick up a Perfect Shot to really enjoy them (not necessary for S&P.)

*edit* I noticed that you did list the Pefect Shot! It's pretty good, although the handle is a little large for my hands. It also lets you feel a slight bit of recoil when the wiimote rumbles. Much better than the Wii Zapper.

There's also:

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

The camera shake messes with your aim - sucks for a game that's all about precision.

Some good ideas, but ultimately forgettable [I never saw how the boss battles were handled in the original versions, so I don't know what it was like playing them in the original code veronica or whatever game the story bridges]. A bit too slow for my tastes, and I don't recall liking how the ammo was handled.

Very anticlimactic.

Edit: I haven't played Umbrella Chronicles, so I can't make a comparison. From what I hear - The Darkside Chronicles is better. If that's the case, you can probably live without it.

Dead Space Extraction is worth a play through if you can get it cheap but the story missions are kind of dull.
And lots of gray corridors...

How well does House of the Dead 2-3 play compared to the original arcade?

Sin & Punishment is awesome, get it for sure.

I agree with FS about House of the Dead Overkill it's a fun game, not something I go back to, but fun.

I really enjoyed Umbrella Chronicles, I guess I'm in the minority here? There was tons to unlock and I thought it played really well. Had a decent score system that made it enjoyable to replay levels etc. Probably have more time on this than any of the other games mentioned (although S&P will probably surpass it in the future).

House of the Dead 2 & 3 are pretty good too, if you've played the arcade then you know what to expect, but I think the Perfect Shots are a MUST for this game.

I completely agree on the flashing knobs of the move thingy. I hope those can be turned off because they don't just look stupid they are also distracting.

For the topic HotD 2 + 3 is pretty fun and a not too shaby con off the arcade ver.

I liked Umbrella Chronicles too!

Can't wait to get my hands on S + P 2 but haven't got too much money at the moment. If it's as good as the first it must be awesome!

Yep, its guncon 3 compatible.

No way in hell I was going play a gun game with an icecream cone, so its nice they didnt remove the guncon option. Now, I just need to pick up a 2nd one.

Part 2 is fine. But the Wii port of 3 sucks. The arcade, and even the original Xbox 1 port run at silky smooth 60fps. The Wii version? Only 30 fps. :oh_no:

Been picking up most of the games listed above and took some time to try them out this weekend.

So far Ghost Squad has felt the most like an arcade game,
House of the Dead 2 and 3 are both awesome too.

Spend the extra time with careful calibratiion for the best accuracy, its worth it.

I bought the Perfect Shot and wouldnt go back at this point.
http://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Shot-..._1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1281321515&sr=1-1

The experience is 10x better with some kind of gun control.
The only down side to the Perfect Shot is that you can't use Motion plus.

I do notice that the Motion Plus feature will improve the speed that you can move the cursor
around on the screen for aiming but you dont need it. (Im just trying to eek out a little more accuracy and speed)

Im trying out another gun control for the wii. There black (I have a Black Wii) which is more gun like and they
let you use Motion plus. where the Perfect Shot does not.

There only $1.50 and $4.99 shipping, so I bought two, well see how they work compared to the Perfect Shot.

Ill review it when I get them, coming from Singapore.

Also, I picked up a couple EMS TopGun 2 for playing PS2 games on LCD TVs
and I will review them when they arrive as well.
You can pick them up on ebay or Play-Asia.

Here are youtube vids of the EMS TopGun2:
