Anyone interested in this game? it looks decent, albeit a tad bland.

Apparently, its controlled w/ the dual analog sticks. This may be a deal breaker for me though since I don't really care for that control scheme...I really need to play shooters w/ a joystick.

Pretty sure that I'm not gonna import it at ~$70...but maybe if I can find it cheaper in the future. At the very least, the game has me intrigued.

It looks ok. I don't think I would ever pay $70 for it though. My guess is Strike Witches will become a Platinum Hits release in the future for $35 anyway.

When I first saw the game, I thought it was going to be an XBLA release. It probably should be...

It reminded me more of Smash TV than a shmup.

I agree, it does look like it should be on live. Quite frankly, Omega 5 looked alot more impressive. But you're right, hopefully it will get a platinum release as well and will sell for around $30 or so. If so, I hope they don't change the artwork though...I like the cover.

I'm going to pass on this one too. I hope to pick it up eventually, but I don't have the desire to blow $80 on this after shipping.

This game isn't meant for fans of shoot'em ups. It's meant for fans of Strike Witches who happen to kind of like shoot'em ups.

Most of this game's development budget was spent on hiring the 11 voice actresses from the anime, and contracting the studio that did the anime to make scenes for the game.

As for getting a platinum release some day, that depends on how many rabid, 360-owning Strike Witches fans there are out there.

I took the plunge and ordered this from ncsx the other day and it already arrived.

My quick thoughts after two playthroughs is that it's not worth the money. The modes are story, arcade, score attack , and an interactive gallery with sound clips that you access buy talking to the different characters.

Story mode: 5 minute text and voice dialog between characters every stage(skippable), 5 stages.

Arcade mode: Unlocked after beating story mode. Characters (12) are unlocked after story completion. No cutscenes.

Basic gameplay is dual stick control of 3 characters at once, each with there own shot type. Switch between them with a click of a button. Super shot constantly charging after use. Ready at around 10 seconds.

Scoring is very underwhelming. Kill enemies get a bronze then silver then gold cross for points. Doesn't reset after being hit by a shot only after continue.

Graphics are sub-par compared to other 360 games.

Also the live leaderboard is completly broken as in you check the leaderboard and you're console freezes.

As previous posters have already said this is a game for Strike Witches fans and not shmup fans.

Been reading nothing but poor reviews for this. Glad I skipped buying this for full retail, for a shmup to lack in challenge and score is to miss the mark of the genre completely. The collector in me wants to grab it someday, maybe for $20 for a chuckle or two.

It's really weird because most impressions, Japan-side, have been positive. But Hentai Sama is right, the game really is meant for fans of the anime, not of the genre.

I'd be interested if it dropped in price, or perhaps if they released more copies of the normal edition, which is currently sold out everywhere with only the LEs still left in stock.
