Just placed an order for this game. It took me awhile to make decision whether I need to spend $100+ for one video game (exclude Neo AES.........I'm talking about MegaDrive/PCEngine/SuperFamicom platforms).........hopefully I made a right decision.

I've played rom version long time ago so I can barely remember the gameplay.

Just wondering how many people in here are the owners of this game?

I don't own it, nor have I played it. From what I understand it's like Cotton? Did you buy the PCE version?

Its not that great of a game. Yes it is a bit like Cotton. Its only because the US version is so high that the JP version has been jacked price wise. I used to own the JP version but sold it. If you like Cotton you would probably like this game.

I ordered JP PCE version. I start selling my US Turbo games (both hucard, SCD and system) because I'm tired of ridiculous price these days. I may get rid of my last few games and US Duo (with box) soon.

I like cotton on PCE SCD and NGPC so Im sure I'll like it :)
It's my first $100 non-Neo AES game I paid. The highest price I paid was MegaDrive Batman back in the early 90s. I paid $90 + shipping for that game and it ended up a pirate copy and I never get any refund.............fuck :very_ang:

It is a fantastic game, I wouldn't pay what it's going for nowadays, but it is fun. If you don't mind sharing, what did you pay for it?

I paid $95 + shipping from JPN.

Normally price is range from $125 - $150 but I was glad I did not pay that much. I don't like localization, cover art (in the old days) and price, so I try to avoid US version unless price is right. Otherwise I'll go straight to JPN one because of the unbeatable price.

I only paid $25 + shipping for Battlemania 2 one month ago..........well, it's not JPN original ($175 - $200+) but it's a Korean version. Cover shows Korean but game itself is in Japanese. I'm happy with the price I paid :drool:

Yeah man, that's not a bad price for Magical Chase. If you don't like it I'm sure you could flip it easily.

I have PCE retail version. It's a fun game but use the right weapon at the right time and the game gets really easy. It plays quite a bit differently then Cotton though. Graphics are nice though. Main reason the USA version is so wanted is because Stage 1 was remade and is a lot nicer looking then the JP version.

I think Magical Chase is a pretty decent shooter worth owning. And like the other poster said, the Jp version does not graphically look as good. But it's really not worth paying $400.00 more for the Eng version just to have a minor graphical uphaul. The main thing to learn in this game is how to use the 2 star options Topsy and Turvy. They can be locked in place, or be set to move freely. Also, the direction they shoot can be locked. So you can have them moving around you shooting in 1 direction, or moving around you shooting in the opposite of the direction you are pressing. Or you can have them locked with a locked shooting position, or shooting in the opposie direction you are moving. Another interesting feature of the game is the shops. You need to figure out what weapons to buy, and when and what order to buy the life hearts and other special items.

I personally think the game is better than Cotton. It has really godd music, and creatinve bosses. There is no intricate scoring system, but in a world filled with cave shooters, it's a nice time to relax.

I have got it on PC engine - I personally think that it is a pretty good cute-em-up, even better than Cotton in some instances. :)

But the turbo-grafx version is way over-priced FWIW... the only reason for that pricetag is becos of the very low quantity release on TB-16.

The lesson here - always get a PC engine - perferrably duo-R! :multi_co:

Lucky bastard, twice even! I'd say it's a fair price as it IS a good shooter. Aside it and Bonk, it's the only reason I have my TG16

Nice score man, I was actually contemplating buying it but when I came back to the computer it was sold. Cool shooter and I'm sure you'll like it, good deal too.
