ps2 in component video issue

why in component video when playing my ps2 on a hdtv the game dose not quite fill the tv screen!

Most likely because of the resolution of the game. I'm also willing to bet you could find the answer to this easily in any common FAQ on a PS2 forum. When looking for information on the internet, it's best to first choose the appropriate place to look.

Quite a few PS2 games have significant underscan, this results in black bars around the video.

The 60gig PS3 does the same thing when playing PS2 games on it.
