hey parallax my man - hope this helps a bit.

1) if yur talking bout MVS hard dip settings then the ones that really matter are these:

dip # 1 = the test mode - this is where you set some operator settings for your cab, the mvs cart, and the PCB. this is where you find cab settings and soft dip settings for you to set mvs games individually. you'll find this very useful for the most part.

dip # 7 = the FREE PLAY mode, well nuff said, hheheheh.

dip # 8 = the pause mode. the game is frozen but you'll still hear the BGM playing ala pressing the select button on AES machines putting games on pause.

dips 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 has something to do with linking MVS cabs together or something but not really sure tho.

the soft dip sheets that come with MVS kits not really necessary at this point coz once you go into test mode and select soft dip settings, the menu is self explanatory as to what you can do with the software, buddy!

peace brother!!

Thanks that will be of help. I guessing that the soft dips will be different for every game.

Errr... for the most part, soft dips are about the same: like to set the censorship, difficulty level, if attract mode has no sound or switcheable sound, some has number of lives setting like shock troopers, etc., really depends on type of game, there would be some differences, yes, but for the most part you'll find it about what you'll expect from from cart to cart. you'll see the diffs when you're setting a game's soft dip settings. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
