My friend's Neo-Geo CD Top Loader keeps wiggin' out...it'll play a few matches of RB:FF2 (or any other game), then when it goes to load again, it says "Disc I/O Error:0002 Please Power Off."

What can be done? Does it need a new motor kit? Hopefully one of y'all will have some insight.
Thanks in advance!

First things first, I assume you are using Original Neo CD's. If you are try simply cleaning the CD Lens as it may just have a speck of Dust on it.
If your CD's are Backups then this is your Problem.
Have you tried any other Titles.?

this has nothing to do with backups (im pretty sure) it is the system overheating buy not having a step down converter for your ac plug

Top loading Neo Geo cd systems are known to have this problem frequently.

The solution is to take the top part of the cover off but be carefull as a ribbon is attached to the bottom and adjust the pot on the cd laser.

Turn it a HAIR "COUNTER" clockwise then snap the top back on and test it out.

Do this untill you get it working, but remember how far you have went in case you need to start from go.....
