This screen grab *may* be from a GameStop pre-order database;).

I'm fairly confident in my source.:glee:

If they keep this uncensored...well, here's hopin'.

I would not pay more than $20 for this game. It may be getting a domestic release but it is a pretty crappy title TBH.

Crappy seems a bit harsh imho. I don't much care for horiz shumps myself- OG is fine for what it is. Would a 2D Parodius proper update been prefered? Sure. Otomedius beats the piss out of Rocket Knight as far as 3D updates on 360 goes tho. If Color manual and DLC Card included? I would pay 35 bucks for that. *crosses fingers for domestic release of OG stick*

Jeff speaks from experience. It is pretty crappy and has iffy collision detection. I'm a big fan of Mine/Gradius/Parodius and I was still dissapointed with this game.

I also speak from experience. I played vectorman0's OG at the last SJC. Had fun. Way more fun than the new Rocket Knight.

Did you grab the patch updates? They fixed alot of the collision issues. A friend of mine has been pestering me to get it, but I fucking HATE xbox. That, and I wonder if we'll get the sticks with the touchpads....

Probably not. I got the game on its initial Japanese release and played it on and off for a couple of weeks and completely had my fill of it. I don't remember getting prompted for any updates. Since I'll be playing Senko no Ronde DUO tonight I can throw in OG for kicks to see if it wants to update.

Unfortunately due to the cost of those sticks it seems pretty unlikely they'd be crazy enough to release them here. They are a really expensive novelty anyway. :loco:

Speaking of expensive novelties it reminds me of a joke about the Wii Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Controller...

I love Gradius/Life Force/Parodius/Salamander so I'm pleased as punch that it could be getting a release here in the states. So I'll pick it up when it drops. Hopefully they won't charge 60 bucks for it, unless their going to go out whole hog like their doing with Deathsmiles.

Otomedius is really not that bad. Honestly, i like it more than most other Konami shooters for the simple fact that dying in Otomedius doesn't completely screw you over (gives you a chance to pick your options back up). Sure, the graphics are somewhat bland, but trying out various speed-up/weapon combinations can be pretty fun. And yeah, the hit boxes take some getting used to and I'm not a big fan of tiny bullets.

I have mixed feelings about the scoring system in Regular mode. I guess I'm just not used to being forced to use bombs constantly in order to score well. It's cumbersome and unorthodox, but on the other hand, it allows you to power up insanely quick and bomb stock is also quickly regenerated.

I bought Otomedius G on release, but looking back on it, is it worth full price? Eh, I think it'd be worth it at $35~$40, especially if it includes all/some of the DLC.

I'm very surprised to see that it's getting a US release. Both due to the kind of game it is and some of its content. I have a hard time believing that it won't be censored in some way. But I guess there's a chance that Konami will mimic the way Aksys marketed Record of Agarest War (it may even sell better that way).

I really like this game and don't think it deserves all the hate it gets. My only complaint is the hitbox of the characters is big and takes some getting used to. Learning the stage 6 boss will be the ultimate hitbox test. There are so many ship customization options to experiment with once you earn enough points to buy them from the store. Music and presentation is great, with refrences to past Konami shooters everywhere.

Oh yeah, that's another thing I love about it. I just wish the remixed music DLC packs were cheaper (or better yet, free).

I wish I were more excited by this, but I'm a bit bitter that I paid for such a stupidly expensive toy and the game was as mediocre as it was (and the touch pad totally wasn't fucking worth it, not to mention the way Hori welded the damn stick plate in so I couldn't swap it with a Seimitsu). I get every damn domestic shooter release, but if it's more than $30 I'm not sure I'll bother.

Oh, and even as far as horis go (which I'm not a fan of anyway), it's still mediocre.

By "toy" do you mean the stick or the actual action figures they made? Those look awesome, but they're like $60 each.

The soundtrack alone makes the game awesome (especially if you've played alot of the games from back then)

Plants vs. Zombies is getting a console release?

I have Otomedius already.. I've probably put 80-hours into the online co-op, with each run generally ending in the egyptian level of the second loop, just because there's so many suicide bullets. The netcode's pretty good but with how the difficulty increases, most people just continue shooting everything which only makes things harder.

So it's excellent now instead of gorgeous? If that is so then it would seem unlikely to have it uncensored. I'll have to see the localization warrants another purchase.

Do people really think Otomoedius would need to be censored? It only has a Japanese cero rating of C. I don't think it would score any more than a Teen ESRB rating. Agarest had a Cero rating of C and only got a Teen rating. I would think the cutscenes would be deemed more suggestive in that title than anything found in Otomedius.

Maybe I'm getting to old though...

I do actually agree that I would probaby re-buy the game for $30-35 if it was packaged with all/most of the DLC. Seems unlikely though considering how Konami milked the DLC for the Japanese release.

The stick. The two most common threads in my game collection are controllers and shooters, and the stick still wasn't worth it.

I didn't say that. It's my shooter stick. :(

fair enough...you sounded pretty bummed on it earlier, and i was looking for a more-erm, comfortable way to earn my 500+ rub achievement:tickled:

there is a mushihime sama futari + a TE SFIV stick in it for you if you change your mind...

Does the touch pad serve any purpose with other games on the 360?
