Whats the best place I could get a Japanese 360 from?

If you want the latest chipsets (Falcon, Jasper) and a no fuss or muss customer experience, ncsx. You will pay a premium for this however. If you don't mind an older chipset and Dterminal vs. HDMI support, yahoo.co.jp auctions (with the help of a deputy service like shopping mall japan if you need one). This can be considerably less expensive. If you just want to get your feet wet- mushihimesama futari (any ed) and ESPGajuda II (reg ed) are both region free. Good luck, and welcome to your new addiction:).

After shipping, NCSX will probably come out to be cheaper than Play-Asia. I heartily recommend NCSX.

why not start with Futari and Esp 2 since they are region free? if after a while that´s not enough then import one JP 360.
you still have a few options on live arcade also...
i myself might get a JP 360 this summer.i´m suffering for some Ketsui.

They don't have any stock right now, but this is the best international site for hardware. No one ever talks about them though, which is strange. Play-Asia's hardware is a joke in comparison, I paid 22,000 yen for my limited edition DSi which P-A were selling for almost 39,000.

ncsx trounces Play-Asia in this regard. Less expensive, faster shipping, superior customer service. YMMV. I agree with vectorman0. ncsx gets my highest regard.

Play-Asia sometimes have good deals, but there are a few things you have to look out for to avoid getting pegged by expensive shipping fees (For example, never go above $100 in your order).

Try Galuda 2, it's one of the most accessible shooters out there.

Galuda 2 is def my favorite shooter of all time (makes me want to splurge on the pcb) and really besides Mushihimesama, the only reason I still have the 360. Tonk: Did you get the Japanese 360 for Ketsui yet as I know you had the PCB? Was wondering if it is as good as Espgaluda? I'm thinking it will probably come over here at some point so I'm holding off getting an ntsc-j console for now...unless you can convince me otherwise...

Edit: Ordered Ketsui last night. Here's hoping that its as dope as everyone says it is. Now I need a ntsc-j console. I feel sorta decadent, but it's a lot cheaper root than getting the pcb though...

I'd say a JP 360 is not worth it for Otomedius and Ketsui. With the US release of Death Smiles along with region free Mushihime Futari and EspgaludaII, you should be all set.

shooting love, ketsui (x mode is excellent), DDOUJ (if they patch it), and who knows what else may be coming down the pike? YMMV; however, this is just like every other generation. One's propensity to import will be related to how much they like to play certain genres, play them 1st, and play regional exclusives. For shumps once upon a time it was PCEngine. For RPGs, SuperFami. And in the 32 bit era, the die hard 2D Fighter fans imported Saturn. If you have the coin and the desire- go for it.

No, seriously, if you're playing for survival, how hard is it to slow down bullets?

You have that option.

And up until the middle of stage 4 the patterns are pretty simple to learn.

I almost 1CC'd it playing for survival a few times.

Playing any Galuda game for survival will generally end in a screeching halt at the final boss. There's some out of place difficulty spikes too, like the third stage boss' final pattern. I wouldn't recommend it to newbies.
