so you need to use any special type of wires? Or just connect the grounds to the grounds and the intesity and color? Or can I use something like 18 gauge? I am just making a 2-3 inch s-video extension for a supergun...

thanks!

18 gauge would be way overkill for something like that.

I have used ribbon cable on several occasions for that and it worked fine for me.

I would just make sure what ever you use should be insulated. Help keep it from picking up noise and such.

OK great! So real small insulated wire will work fine then...

looks like it's back to the electronics store for me...

Use what you have man. It's not like theres a risk of shock or anything, no need to go and spend more money.

The pins are tiny. I wouldn't use anything larger than 22 AWG. Do you need to make an entire cable? I needed to make only one end, so I bought an S-video cable and stripped off one end.

no, I am making both a male and female end....

on a 2-3 inch extension cable....

I thought all I had to do was connect the 4 pins to the other 4 pins and as long as they are straight across, everything will be fine.

is this right? or is there more I have to do?
