I had this question in mind. Lets say you wanted to activate the blood and what-not that was censored in the US AES systems for samurai showdown 2. Do I have to go into the debug menu and change the default of the dev. home to dev. MVS? or is it already in default to give access to everything and will changing the region affect the censorship. For example, can I put Dev. MVS and USA and get everything uncensored? Also, is the game DIP selection in the menu, the in game menu? or is there a different command to access that. Sorry sorta new to this.

Thanks

Good, that's the same one I have. In order to access the debug bios menu, you need to have a controller in the 2nd port. Once, you have a controller in the 2nd port, press select and c to access the menu, then a menu should come up. You can access this menu anytime. In order to change region and MVS/home cart, go to Mode Set. After you're in Mode Set, you change the region of the system and between MVS and Home cart mode. When you have in MVS mode, you press select and a to insert coins for 1st player, and press select and b to insert coins for the 2nd player. In Samurai Shodown I and II, if you have it in home cart mode and US region, there is no way you can go around the censorship. You have to it in MVS mode, in able to have the blood on while being in the US region. To go to the dip switch menu, you go to game debug dip and you can turn the dip switches from there. There are some games like Fatal Fury 3, which you cannot start up the game in MVS mode, you have to it in AES mode, and then when you get into the how to play screen, then switch it to MVS mode. SNK did this so arcade operators can't use the home carts on the MVS boards.

so i can leave the region in USA and have the mode in MVS and still have it uncensored correct? Also I currently only have KOF '95 so when I go into the game DIP I see some options. Will the other Home carts have the same options or different?

Yes, you can play Samurai Shodown I and II uncensored, if you have it in US region with it bein' in MVS mode. There are different options for every game, because there are both MVS/home cart versions on every Neo Geo game. It's jus' depends on what your bios is.

I have KOF '95 and I did the way of starting it into AES and then when you get to the "how to play" screen I put it in MVS mode and then I press C to exit and I go back to the "how to play" screen where I left off. Anywho the question is, doing this automatically enables the blood and what-not? reason I ask is because even when I booted my neo without going into the debug menu, I found blood (doing heiderns neck roller) the same whether it was MVS or regular mode....I'm thinking its because the cart is jap, Is that why? Thanks alot for the help bro

For games like Fatal Fury 3 and KOF 95, the settings take after the settings that you put on the options while in home cart mode. For example, you went to the options on KOF 95, and you set the difficulty on Level 3, and when you switch it to MVS mode, it'll take the settings on the home cart mode, because the game settings have been made already, when you go to the how to play screen, jus' like if you went to single play while in home cart mode and when you switch it, it'll stay in single play.

It dosen't matter what region the cart is. The bios in the system is what matters. The default region for the debug bios is jpn. So, if you want to play the US version of KOF 95, when the Neo Geo screen comes up, you have to go to the menu, and switch it to US region.

RIIIIIIIGHT :) lol So what your telling me is that regardless what the screen says, its what you put on the debug menu. For example, you neo usually starts a game at level 4 and if you change it to level 3 difficulty will it automatically change while in the game??

For the diffculty settings for games like Samurai Shodown, you would have to reset the game or get game over for the diffculty settings take effect. But, for games like KOF 95, the diffculty settings take after the settings you put into the options while in Home cart mode, so, if you put on Level 3 in the options, it'll stay at Level 3 even if it says Level 4 at the bottom.

No blood codes for Samurai Shodown that I've heard of. For Samurai Shodown II, you can jus' change the region to Japan in the options, and it enables blood. But, I'd recommend for him to get a debug bios, because I hate having to play with only 4 credits. A debug bios is a worthy thing to have in your Neo.
