KOF 2001 boot?

Ok, I just got my copy of KOF2001 and I have to admit that i'm worried. I searched the forums and found out about the option menu and such but when I opened it up it I saw two eproms labeled 'P1' and 'P2' and they've got the little shiny window things on them as well. Does this mean that i've got a boot? I just got this today so if everything's not on the up and up I'll send this thing packing.

No, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a boot. It could be a repair job. And I am assuming you are talking about MVS cart right? How about taking a picture of both boards and maybe one of the experts here can tell you if it's a boot or not.

I wish I could take a pic of it, but I don't have a camera anymore. Everything looks ok on it so far, plus both of the boards have 'KOF 2001' on it. Maybe is somebody else has some pics, I could compare them with what i've got.

KOF2001 graphics PCB (bottom board) should look like this :

Not a boot, not a repair... the only version of the game that I know of :) Notice the cool sockets!

Thanx HPMan, my graphics board looks just like that so that's good news..
you wouldn't happen to have a pics of what the top board should look like?
Oh yeah, the cart i've got is supposed to be a jap cart as well.

Dude, it's real... don't worry, it is not a bootleg. If I had my camera I would take a picture of my kit, but it is identical to your cart,

Dude, it's real... don't worry, it is not a bootleg. If I had my camera I would take a picture of my kit, but it is identical to your cart,

Good to hear, I would have hated to send it back as I've been trying to track down this cart for some time...
