i had an older monitor that required an iso transformer and had a 2 pin connector. i recently replaced it with a new monitor that does not require an iso transformer and has a 3 pin connector. id like to keep the transformer, but im not sure which wire is the hot, and which is the neutral. :(

If you are in a 230-240 ac volt region you should be able to figure out the primary/secondary windings. With 110 volts it is usually a case of 1:1 so the connection is not important.
