Defenders of Oasis if you like RPGs,
Sonic games are always good. I got game gear but the speaker is busted.

I still have my original gamegear with like 13 games. I really like sonic spinball and shinobi II. Most people wouldn't like MK II for the gamegear, but since it was a childhood game for me i'd say thats a good one too.

Strangely enough, the Fatal Fury Special game is good fun.

Both Aleste games for sure. Those are two real games in the series that are Game Gear-exclusives.

Sonic Triple Trouble and Puyo Puyo 2 were probably my favorites on it.

No one mentioned either of the Power Rangers games. It's quite fun and you just beat the shit out of stuff.

The Aleste games, as mentioned, Gunstar Heroes is pretty damn close to the Gen version considering, and there's a little-known Panzer Dragoon game called Panzer Dragoon Mini. I think there's a Tempo game too. I could be lying about that though.

I loved the Game Gear. Get all the Sonics, I preferred the 1st one. Mortal Kombats were good. Out Run Europa, Chakan: The Forever Man, I liked the Tasmanian Devil Game and get a master gear converter to play Sega Master System games.

Any Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse game, Jurassic Park, the Mortal Kombats, Ninja Gaiden, Pengo, the Shinobis, the Streets of Rages, Woody Pop. There really are a lot of fun games for it.

Shining Force: Sword of Hajya.

If you're remotely a fan of strategy RPGs you'll really enjoy this one.

game gear had it all, and if it didn't the SMS had a nice backup.
you can always get a Master Gear converter and play SMS games on your Game gear. they sell for like $15 on ebay.

but really, people underestimate the GG library.

The weakest genre is RPG, as expected, but it has a few.

Power Rangers The Movie (Cool little fighter)
Sonic Triple Trouble
Tails Adventure (My favorite game on the system)

Can't really think of others worth getting. I got into the system late as a kid, my folks got me one as a birthday present and a lot of the games I have on it suck and wouldn't be worth getting. Many of the good games like Gunstar Heroes and Ristar I don't have, but I would like to get.

i had wanted a GAME GEAR back around 1992/93,
but my grandmother ended up getting me a GAME BOY
instead because it was so much cheaper...

i never ended up getting much into handhelds,
anyway, except for the late nineties, when i had gotten into POKE'MON
for a couple of years there. i beat the game,
collecting only my favorites along the way
(i never did really give a rat's ass about "Catching 'Em All")
and then never really looked back...

back to GAME GEAR, i finally got an opportunity to
get one when the neighbor in the duplex
i live in had a yard sale.

she was asking $25 for this semi-complete setup,
and later on in the day, towards closing time,
i talked her down to $10.

it came with SONIC TRIPLE TROUBLE
and a couple sports carts i couldn't care less about.

i managed to get the GG unit case open by removing the outer
philips-head screws, then pulling the body apart to break
the center post which was secured by some lousy-ass
specialized-headed screw...

i suppose i can finally say that i finally have a GG after
all these years, though i really do not care at all for
gaming-on-the-go, the GG does fit nicely into
this dual-compartment carrying case alongside my
SEGA NOMAD... :):A::B::C::D::)

Why did you open it? kinda threw that in there, without a reason. was it broke or something?
