im trying to figure out the best way to make the button/joy holes in my new artwork. ive tried using an exacto knife on a previous piece of work and it didnt come out as good as id hoped. im afraid to use the drill that made the holes in the plexiglass because im afraid itll tear it to shreds. whats the best way to make these holes without ruining the artwork?

If the control panel's already drilled, put the overlay on and then cut out the holes from the inside of the CP. X-acto is the best thing to use and make sure it's clean and sharp. Remember any minor imperfections around the button holes will be covered up by the button base.

Easiest way is to use the Xacto knife but if you want you can also use a gel ink type pen and use the hole in the CP as a stencil and keep tracing the hole over and over. Eventually the paper gets wet enough and you can easily tear the circle out.

just make an x across the hole and fold it down.
