I'm new to the MVS scene since Arcade released the adapter. But, where else can I buy MVS games from other than EBay?

You can buy them right here on neo-geo.com. Just vlivk on neo store on the upper left hand tab. THere click on MVS and you will see what is for sale. Welcome to the wonderful world of MVS. I too am new to it and love it. How are you playing, supergun or cabinet?

Let's see...
You can buy MVS carts at:
-Gamesales Co. (http://www.arcadeclassic.com)
-National Console Support (http://www.ncsx.com)
-Buyrite (http://www.buyrite.net); NOT RECOMMENDED!!

In my opinion, the two best sources for MVS are:

MD Gamesales (they eBay a lot) www.mdgamesales.com
1-800-NEO-GEOS

And Cosmic Company out of Hong Kong
I get their emails but I don't have one on me right now to give you their address. I think nruva has it. Their prices are reasonable (although the shipping is pretty pricy out of HK), and their item quality is great.

I am actually trying to decide whether to buy an American style 4-slot cabinet, a cherry 4-slot cabinet, or just stick to my AES with Phantom converter. Eventually I'd love to own a cabinet though. Is there any way to play my AES carts on the MVS? I have a few games that I wouldn't mind putting in there (Windjammers, BS2, Viewpoint) in case I have a get together at my house, I can make some pocket change to support my hobby.

What's the interest? The aes versions are always most expensive.

I'm trying to build a library of MVS games, but don't want to neglect my AES ones.

I'm new to MVS as well.

Video Connect seems like a good place to go for some rare stuff like Super Dodge Ball.

Some of their other games are a bit pricey tho. Do they usually have boxes and markees for games?

I too am new to the Neo Geo scene. Got myself a AES system with a few games and a convertor but I need new slots to get the convertor to work properly. I have therefore decided to order a 6 slot cabinet so I can benefit from cheaper gaming and a wider selection of titles.

Cheers for the suggested places to buy MVS titles.

As for hardware.....
Which has the better picture quality, the AES with S-VHS mod, or MVS on RGB?
I'm guessing sound is better on the AES since you can pump it out directly through a home stereo?

I wouldn't do that. I heard a 6-slot MVS cabinet is very unreliable and needs frequent mantinence. Instead, I would suggest that you get a 4-slot cabinet; not only are they more reliable, but they're cheaper, too.

I'd have to go with mdgamesales too. They always have a ton of bare MVS carts on Ebay, and they usually have low Buy It Now prices so you don't have to wait for an auction to end to buy it.

I own and use a six slot and have had NO problems with it. It has required no more maintenance than my one slot...Hold more games and works GREAT!!!

Remember that AES too can output RGB signal...

Carldmc,

My mvs is hooked up to my home made jamma.

Video is 29" rgb, sound is via gold phono to marantz amp and ms25i speakers.

So no, sound isn;t always better on aes.

mdgamesales are the first people i ordered from when i got my 6-slot mvs this friday the carts were shipped very fast, they were bare but they at least throw in a color copy of the mini marquee which i cool. i ordered the following from them: Samurai Showdown 1 & 4 & bust a move... i spent like $121 total with shipping and all the games work superbly, im impressed by them.

Correction Bobak, MD's number is 888-NEO-GEOS. I get the 888 and 800 number mixed up all the time myself.
