I have a PGM, when I turn it on, I get the splash screen then I get this error code:

<<ERROR 68K: ED56 Z80ADDR: C10000 DATA: 2F7E>>

I went into the hardware test, everything (that I could check) seems fine, except for the sound test, music and voice did not play anything.

I adjusted the volume on the system, and I can hear the volume control working, but I get no sound.

I know the game (only one I have) functions, so I know its not the game itself.

95% of the time when a PGM mobo fails, its the sound hardware, they seem to be very cheaply made.

Depends on the severity of the error I'd imagine and if theres anything to panic on such a fault. If the game definitely works without sound, its your sound hardware on the mobo which is a common fault with those PGM mobos.

Well it is working without sound isn't it? Doesn't that answer your own question?

Try another PGM motherboard if you can, its almost definitely the sound hardware.

ahhh the good old corroding battery, another typical PGM problem.

Yeah, you want that cleaned up and the acid neutralized.

But is it worth it for the price of the board, hmm. Might not even be fixable. Corroded PCB traces etc.

I guess you could PM channelmaniac and see what he thinks.

The thick traces are easy to fix, it's the plate-throughs that connect to that SMD that it's gonna be fun fixing.
