I have absolutely no sound in the game, not even distortion or hissing. All graphics are fine, the game plays perfectly besides not having sound. I swapped in another CHA512Y board from a friend's board set, and it had sound again, so I know it's something with the one board. I also reflowed all solder and it didn't do anything.
I wouldn't think M1 and S1 wold likely fail at the same time, could it possibly be one of the four other smaller chips on the sides of M1 and S1?

Post a pic of the solder side. You most likely have a broken trace to the M1.

Just desoldered the rom, the traces under it are still good.

Check continuity from the M1 on all the pins, some go to the edge and some go to some jumpers and some to the SMD.

Also don't forget to clean the edge with a pink or art eraser.

All the traces were good, I had a friend verify the M1, and it apparently was bad. Three of the pins were unresponsive in the test. He burned me a new rom and it works.

Good to hear dude. That's actually the 4th time I've heard of Last Blade 2 having a rom go bad. Last Blade 2 and Metal Slug X both are the most unreliable MVS carts.

This problem came up after I dropped the cart last year, not far but I did. But I guess hat would still make that rom sensitive as the same has happened to a few other carts with no problems.
