neo geo mvs sound only on bootup screen

i have a vega jr supergun and i got my first arcade board which is a MV-1F 1 slot mvs when i turn it on i only hear sound during the boot up screen and when i insert coins. No sound during game at all? what is the problem?

Clean the games and the carts...Some MVS games (if dirty) won't have sound or will have garbled sound..

It's either:

Dirty Cart
Dirty Slot
Broken Trace
Corroded Connection Pin
Bad M1
Bad V Roms
Bad Z80

Check in that order.

ok so as i stated earlier the sound only works on the neo boot screen with the chime music and or when i put in credits... Thats all. I ended up getting a cps2 board and the sounds works fine on it...??? The guy that sold me the mvs took it back and tested it on his supergun and he says it works fine? what the hell is going on here

I'm willing to bet its the cart. Crack it open and check the continuity of the relevant pins.

Did the guy test it with the same cart you are testing with?

no he tried a different cart. but i tested the only 2 mvs games i had on me at the time....
