Hi Guys!
Just getting back into NEO GEO after years! Glad to see so many people still into the neo geo scene! I've still have my AES in the loft since the mid 90's
Anyway, I have two faulty 2 slot boards and wondered if anyone interested in repairing them if I can't get them going (highly likely)
1st board (MV2-f) boots to crosshatch and won't load games. unibios does read some data from slots but lots of missing data. Not sure whats supposed to happen but when I put all dips down it boots to testing ram but just sits there. Is it supposed to cycle through??
I've checked a good 5v to the board.
However I have noticed on this board that the cartridge slot only has pins sticking through the solder joints at each side, toward the middle the solder points are smooth. Is it worth unsoldering and resoldering? Has anyone ever seen anything like this ... I guess it could be that in the past the board has been flexed too much???
2nd board (MV-2) has the following error
..... Video RAM ERROR address 00000C0E write 5555 read 5515 .. picked this one up as faulty in the hope I could get the video ram chips replaced. Had a quick look at the traces and can't see anything really obvious.
Anyway ... Thanks for your input!!!
