Sony PVM monitor+medium resolution arcade games?

Hi Guys,

I have a PVM-2530 with an RGB connection in the back I use to play arcade boards. There are a lot of 3D games I would like to play, but I don't know how they would look on it. I would rather wait to buy an RGB monitor or a cabinet with a tri-sync monitor that can display the medium resolution games natively.

But my friend who I got the PVM from says it should display high enough. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think unlike arcade monitors that are limited to 15hz sync, PVM's are not.

I know PVM's will work with a PS1/2 through SCART so I would assume that means they work with more than 15hz arcade RGB.

Wtf? Why on earth would you think that?

The PVM is a (tv) broadcast monitor. No reason whatsoever to support anything above 15khz.

On the other hand, many arcade monitors do support dual res (15khz/24khz).
