I never played past Red/Blue.

After 200 hours, I thought I had been poke'd out for an entire lifetime.

But now it seems ten years is long enough for a hiatus.

You can play through the Red/Blue world after you beat the Gold/Silver world too.

So its more fun.

I too played Red/Blue but especially Yellow for ages.

After that I always thought apart from graphics it's always the same.

I fucking loved Gold and Silver back in the day so I'll definitely be picking up a copy of one or even both of these. I rarely play my DS (last game I purchased was Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars) so it will be good to bust out the DS again.

I had on of those walky Pikachu things when I was younger.

I'm so glad they took that idea and made it useful.

I just got Gold.

What's the pedometer thing do exactly?

You send a up to three pokemon to it from your DS. You pick little areas to send them to.

When you walk or shake the thing you get points to buy into battles with random pokemon and have the chance to catch them and transfer them back to your DS. Same with a little item finding mini game.

You also gain XP on it that helps level up your little duders quicker.

So its exactly like the old Pocket Pickachu only useful.

That does sound incredibly useful.

An incredibly useful pussy repellent that is.

I just bought HeartGold, and now I'm listening to random songs from the anime series.

This might become a problem... :oh_no:

I haven't got the pokewalker rigged up yet, but there is apparently an event starting today in some connection with the pokewalker that unlocks Yellow Road.

You can read more details at serebii
http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/pokewalker-area.shtml#yellowforest

But basically you can catch a Pikachu with Surf or with Fly. I think you can get both, but I'm not sure, I haven't started the event.

The two rarer Pikachus of the six or so total know surf or fly. You can catch as many as you want.

There are two other event roads for the walker (you can get the japanese broadcast roms if you look around, I already unlocked them all on ours.)

Interesting, so how would you use one of those roms? Would it be like an application on your computer that would transmit a signal in some way. Or would you put it onto like an R4 kind of chip and then transmit it from DS to DS? Anyways if you've got a link with some more info it'd be much appreciated.

Are yours also the European release? Is there one release for all of the EU or are there kind of separate versions (you mention problems in Holland and Belgium but not other countries? Anyways so I guess you were lucky enough to get them early and luck enough to not have run into whatever problems they were having.

Also, I thought they didn't get those figures in Europe. Maybe it was just the UK that didn't get them.

Heh, I want to play more, but its actually taking a good chunk of time to find the rare pokemon the pokewalker. And the Yellow Road is only available for this month (or its only supposed to be unless you use a special rom or something as another user mentioned). So far I've got 2 surf pikachus and 1 volt tackle pikachu. Come on fly pikachu where are you haha
