I wonder if that means you can get them to un-fix SSZS carts. ;P

Seriously though, it's pretty damned cool that they would do that, considering it's 20 year old hardware and it's not like they have any real obligation to do it. I don't even think NINTENDO still services the N64 or Gamecube, let alone the Super Famicom. :P

I think the real question is, how much will it cost for service?

The only way they can make revenue is off the old SNK stuff apparently.

That's cool they are offering hardware repairs.

But...I'd rather see them release a new AES game every year or two. That would be awesome as long as it is quality.

I'd rather send my stuff to Channemaniac.

Thanks for nothing because who here or anywhere else can't already repair their own AES/MVS

I wonder if they have or will reproduce some AES system shells.

That's great news. If the service is offered in North America, perhaps I can then convince my friend to get his MS5 fixed the right way and spare the poor speakers on my cab.

I would laugh my ass off if this results in officially repaired games that have surface mount flash chips on DIP adapters.

It would not surprise me one bit if they did that, Murray. Flash is far less expensive and more reliable in read-only mode than an EPROM, and without doing new production runs they will not replace bad chips with mask roms.

They probably won't be able to find commercial sources of those decade old chips even if they wanted to.
