How to on or off dipswitches?

Can someone teach me how to on or off dipswitches in the NeoRageX emulator? As i'm a slow learner, can you teach me step by step? I'll really appreciate your help.

You don't lock or unlock dipswitches, you on or off them!

First you have to enable Dipswitches under the machine mode screen in the GUI.

Then I believe you have to hit tab or F1 or a combination of the two as you start up the game you want to play. The dip menu will then appear. Make your changes and select exit on that screen. Then hit tab to continue loading the game.

There's probably an easier way to do this, but it works for me. The exact key you have to press after you've enabled dipswitches in the GUI and begun booting the ROM is the only part I'm not certain about...check the READ ME for the right key because I haven't used the dipswitch mode in NeoRageX in months...
