Hello,

I recently got a converted MVS cabinet, it currently has a 2 slot board. I want to upgrade it to either a six slot board or a four slot board.

After doing a little research I have read that the 6 slot is the most tempermental of them all. What exactly does that mean?

Does anyone here own a six slot or the four slot MVS boards? I would rather have the six slot board for more games in my cabinet.

I would like to know a little more about both boards before buying one. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Robert

I would go for the 4 slot,i have no probs with mine. The 2 and 4 slot are def more reliable, the 6 slot is more expensive and not as reliable.
Thats my view anyway!

Avoid the single and six slots. They seem to cause the most problems.

Check out <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

There is a lot of info, and it's very useful. :)

Its a myth that 6 slots are unreliable imho, OK more slots more chance of a problem with a slot, thats maths. Have not seen any posts confirming the reliability issue. Can only speak from my own experience- 6 slots are as reliable as the other board sets.

6 slots very rarely came in for repair. The 1 and 2 slots were most likely, mainly because there were so many.

Thanks for the info, I saw a six slot of Ebay recently for only 200.00 or 205.00 for buy it now.

I was hesitant to bid on it because of several reasons. I've read the power supply is higher that the others and they would not tell me if it was English or Japanese boards.

Is there any difference between English and Japanese Boards? Will someone please verifty this for me?

Thanks again,
Robert
