Picked this up the other day and I must say I am really enjoying this game. It definitely borrows heavily from Monster Hunter but makes welcomed improvements (character jumping for one). I like the fact that you can use a sword and a gun(alternate between the two) and the strategy for mixing the two. I also like how you can have 3 NPCs along with you in story missions as well as the entire "god eating" mechanic in order to power up your weapons. Difficulty (at least for right now) is not as brutal as Monster Hunter, and battles are more fast pace.

Really recommend it to anyone who is a Monster Hunter fan and wants a more futuristic take on the genre.

Anyone else have/play this?

I liked the demo. Much more than any Mon Hun I have played. Presentation is top notch and just feels better to play.

Not on PSN yet though and I'm in no rush for more PSP games.

The art style has me more interested in this than in Monster Hunter.

I was reading the reason it is not on PSN yet is for piracy reasons. God Eater is one of if not the only game which cannot be played on CFW. I was playing this game on my gf's PSP and enjoyed the game so much I actually went out and bought myself a 3000 with OFW to compliment my 2000 with CFW.

The art is great and the music is also fitting to the game's setting. I like that the battles are co-operative (either with human or NPCs) as well as the fight mechanics. Although it is similar to MH, the more I play it I realize how different it really is. The battles in GE (so far) are much faster and are not as epic as MH. I put about 100 hrs into MHP2ndG and let me tell you some of the harder battles demand absolute perfection in order to complete. As such, the somewhat easier difficulty is a welcome addition to me.

I am going to be picking up a Go when the price drops, but I will say that like MH, the control scheme will seem a bit diffcult on the Go due to the analog stick position. You move the character with the stick and use the d-pad to move the camera. I like to play with my left thumb on the stick and left index finger across the d-pad for easy control (standard MH hand positioning), but that would be a bit difficult on the Go.
