I just got a new 360 yesterday, and I was thinking about picking up Raiden IV and Raiden Fighter Aces today, but wanted to get your opinions first. I know about imports like Espgaluda II Black Label and Mushihimesama Futari, but I'm just looking at U.S. releases right now.

If you consider Senko No Ronde a shooter that would be my first recommendation. It would be an odd pick for most but seeing how it's so cheap, it's worth a try.

Raiden Fighters Aces is a great compilation. The boss rush and score attack modes add a little more variety and life to the games instead of just playing through arcade mode over and over.
Raiden IV was decent but left me a little underwhelmed.

Retail games aside, Ikaruga and Triggerheart Exelica on Live Arcade are wonderful. At $10 each, you get more than your money's worth.

Raiden IV is a great game. I think at Best Buy you can get it for $20 still. It's been at that price for a few weeks now. It's a steal for that price; plus it comes with a soundtrack.

It's a very fun game, but it's not easy. It's much faster than your average bullet hell shooter. The only downside are the controls. Invest in an arcade stick or learn to use the d-pad like I have. The analog stick, which seems nice at first, will cause more frustration in tight quarters.

I thought Omega V was a good Side Scroller on XBL, might want to check that out.

Thanks for the heads up. I was actually near a best buy and picked this up for $20. Last one sitting on the shelf. :)

Raiden Fighters Aces is great, Raiden IV not so much. Go with aces if you have to make a choice.
