My NGPC turns off for no reason sometimes. I'd say it might only do it once in what could add up to hours of use, but still, it does it once in a while.

Does the NGPC give you a low battery warning or no? I know it does for the sub battery.

So is this a common issue and is there a fix?

I've seen this before in a couple units. I'm pretty sure it's the battery spring(s) losing contact with a battery for an instant. One of mine will turn off every time I heavily set it down on a table.

The NGPC will give you a low battery warning screen when the battery life drops I think below 2v. If it just shuts off it sounds like what Mickey said that the contacts are loose or maybe corroded. The corrosion might not be obvious but could still be there on the springs.

Mine does this too sometimes, I never really bothered to find out what's wrong.

I'll look at my contacts next time I use it.
