G'day i have had a Japanes AES for a few months and there is a graphical error that i'm wondering if it's caused by lack of power?
Anyway the converter that was included is..

Input 100-240 volts
50/60 Hz
Output 5VDC regulated
Current 2.5 Amp.

It seems to have a problem with a certain zooming grey graphic across all my games.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Look at the bottom of the console. There should be a label with the model number, type of AC adapter and the serial number on it. Can you get a shot of that?

It's better if you open it up as it could be a reshelled system.

On the bottom it says

NEO-GEO
MODEL No. NEO-O
RATING 8W
USE PRO-POW2 AC ADAPTOR ONLY
SERIAL No 90A 047825

Thanks again.

Pow 2 is +5v@3A. Make sure it's center negative.

Yeah, not enough current from that converter.

Well, if he's using something like a Phantom-1 to play MVS carts then the current draw of the converter can increase the required power significantly beyond what the AES normally pulls.

But if it's an NTSC-PAL or a CRT/HDTV problem, then that's not something a converter can do to help.

Sounds more like his PSU is failing in general. But if it's only doing it during zoom it could be a corroding trace.

Sounds like it may be time to take the shell off and check the board if the new PSU doesn't work.
Thanks man.
