I only discovered within the last year or so that this game still has a decent competitive following. From what I can tell its kind of like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in that it was kind of an accident that it ended up being a decent competitive game.

Anyway, its only 400 points to download now so I've been considering it. My only problem is I only have Japanese style sticks and playing MK with anything other than Happ parts would just be weird. Plus I've heard this game doesn't even have a button config, which has got to be the laziest thing ever.

They took it off of xbox live because of copyright issues when midway was purchased.

Yeah they took it off the marketplace. Also, it cannot be played with a stick because there is no button config in the game. Well you COULD play it with a stick, but the buttons would be all out of place. Or you could rewire a stick exclusively for UMK3...

Amazon still has UMK3 code available for purchase. Dunno if it'll let you download with the code though.

That's bizzarre. UMK3 was always one of the arcade top sellers. I never bought it.

Kinda makes me wonder if the same happened to MK2 on PSN. I much prefer MK2.

It's still there on PSN. If anyone wants to play some classic MK2 on PSN, hit me up.
