Question concerning odd JAMMA+ button layouts

Basically, I need to know which buttons on each layout use the standard JAMMA 3. And if any of them use the not-so-common 4th. I want to build a couple multi-game cabs with Clay's MultiJAMMA, so to make it easier on myself, I want to group together games that would have the same layout with the 3 JAMMA buttons...kick harness wires can easily be rearranged specific to the game, so worries lie strictly with the standard JAMMA buttons. Layouts with an asterisk (*) are solved. J means Jamma and K means kick harness.

LK(3J)-HK(4J)

Rumble Fish *

SNK Atomiswave Layout *
A(1J)-B(2J)-E(5J)
C(3J)-D(4J)

Melty Blood:
A - B - C
D - - - Q

Hopefully I make sense. Thanks.

That info is almost always in the manuals. Have you found the manuals for the games you are in question over?

They usually aren't sepcific enough as to what the buttons do in-game. I don't own any of these, so that's why I'm asking. I did find out the Atomiswave games use the Neo's 4th/5th buttons, so that mystery's solved.

They are specific, look at the edge pinouts.

Most game use only the jamma 3 buttons and anything else is via a kick harness. The info is out there and easy to find.

I'm having a hell of a time finding specific descriptions of shots-to-functions. If I owned the games, it'd be a lot easier, obviously. Pinouts can't tell me what buttons are tag and punch. :(

this is also useful for home console users to correctly map buttons to custom arcade sticks :buttrock:

So I assume all the

1-2-3
4-5

Don't require a kick harness? Because I know the Atomiswave ones don't at least...And with Tekken Tag, pinouts don't help when I don't know what the shots do exactly (specifically 3&4 - are they both kicks or is one of them tag?) Keep in mind the numbers in Tekken layout refer to the standard Tekken terminology (much like HP/HK) and not the shots. So "T" could actually be either shot 3 or shot 5.

Edit: Concerning Atomiswave. I keep finding contradicting evidence between

1-2-3
4-5

and

1-2-5
3-4

Even within the same manual that amazingly describes the function alongside the shot! (Neowave in this instance)

For atomiswave default is:

1-2-3
4-5

You can always change the pinout in the test menu.

And for Tekken Tag its:

P1-P2-Tag
K1-K2

K1 and K2 are Buttons 4 and 5 on the Aux harness.
