I'm not getting a picture when I power my Aero City on. I've tried a couple different games, with no success. I am getting sound however. When I power off the cabinet, the monitor has a brief flash of white, similar to what you would see when you turn off a CRT television.

I haven't had time to play it in a very long time, so I'm really hoping I'm just forgetting to flip a switch somewhere. I've kept it unplugged the entire time when it isn't being used. Is it possible it simply isn't getting enough power from the outlet I have it plugged into?

Since it's not the stock monitor, it has a seperate power line if I recall correctly. I'd check that and fuses.

You should probably just ask Dan about this. He put that cab together and surely has some simple ideas to try first.

Thank you, both of you, for those helpful posts.

Shouldn't you two be shitting on someone's sale thread?

Are you sure that the board is good?

Sounds like your monitor isn't getting a signal.

I'm pretty sure neither of these is the problem, but I just want to rule the dumbest possibilities out first:

1. The only switches on an Aero City are located behind the front service pannel, correct?

2. If I had connected a board to the JAMMA connector upside down, I wouldn't be getting sound would I? Doing that destroys a board doesn't it? There is a label on the connector that says "This side connects to the side with solder." The solder side is the underside, correct? The side with components attached is the in fact, not the solder side?

3. Could being in near a cool air vent have damaged it?

Check underside of your Jamma connector (solder side) on wire 13 for the video sync. Check for a loose wire or a broken connection.

Use this and keep a copy near your cabs.

Did you plug anything upside down?

Usually most monitors are screwy when not getting sync...

Make sure it has the ground connected...

Also make sure the remote board is plugged in right.

Did you check the VGA adapter board?

You know, it's the board that VGA from the monitor has to run to in order to support low-res JAMMA.

TAP, I need to come out and take a look at it. I built the cab, it has a Bob Roberts keyed JAMMA harness, it has a quick disconnect in the middle of the JAMMA harness for video in case you're running VGA direct to the tri-sync, and it has a adapter for JAMMA to VGA that has a wire harness on one side and a VGA connector on the other. The chassis was custom worked by Nieman himself to keep low-res from going wonky as far as geometry. It's a good cab but there are a couple weak links in the video lines due to me trying to configure it as an 'all things to all men' cabinet. Give me a call sometime, we'll work it out.
