Anyone see any good rumors on what the deal with the next PSP-4000 or PSP Go is? The current Go cramped my hands and I couldn't play it for more than an hour at a time. Plus, Sony's gotta make their minds about new releases. MS XX not being available as a download from the PSN Store? What the hell is the purpose of the Go then?

I'd love to see a revision that bridges the design gap between the two versions as well as comes in a matte version that doesn't scratch up easily.

After messing with a PSP Go I can say that you really don't want to play anything like Metal Slug XX with it.

I see what you mean, though I don't have a single clue what Sony are doing. I'm still annoyed that Tales of Vesperia isn't coming to the west for the PS3. Maybe they'll end up settling on the 4000 being the same as the 3000, since it seems to be more popular in the end. I really don't know what their objective was with the PSP Go. It's smaller, but.. that's about it.

Metal Slug is not published by Sony. Sony cannot dictate what does and does not go up for download on the PSN beyond their own stuff.

Third parties seem to be testing the water. For example, Square Enix put Dissidia Universal Tuning up on the PSN in Japan, but Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, which has been very successful at retail, did not go on the PSN. Furthermore, MGS Peace Walker has a retail release date but no PSN download release date, yet I think all of the other Metal Gear stuff for the PSP is up on the PSN. Portable Ops etc. Bandai Namco - they released Tekken 6 on PSN but not God Eater, which has just come out and is pretty popular...

Seems to be a bit random at the moment. I just got Socom off PSN today but that is first party.

Sounds like you just made a very good case for not ever buying a Go.

I'm sure Peace Walker will be available on PSN. If it doesn't then I'll be pissed but it is up to Konami at the end of the day.

Anyhow, I already have more stuff on my Go than I have time to play right now.

Incidentally, anyone know if you can update UMD versions of games?
