I just received Rage of the Dragons today and put it in my Neo 4 slot and on the character select screen and during hits and voice overs in battle the sound is overdriven, super loud and makes my speakers crack. Every other game I have works fine still...I can't figure out if there's something I need to do to get this to work correctly. Any suggestions? Could there be a broken chip on the cart itself?

where did you buy the cart from?
Have you check to make sure it's authentic?
Have you tryed cleaning the interior or exterior of the cart?
Did you try any other slot's on your 4-slot board?

I had this happen on a legit Bust a move again cart, after some cleaning and choosing a different slot it has worked fine.

Try taking all the other carts out of the 4 slot. I have a few games (Shock Troopers for one) that will exhibit those same symptoms when they are plugged in with certain other carts. Also, give it a good cleaning w/a q-tip and some alcohol. Or at least a q-tip if you don't have alcohol handy.

1. The sound in RotD is kind of distorted anyway.
2. It could be time to recap your MVS board's sound section.

If you've already tried everything that's been suggested, #2 could be your problem. I started noticing how overdriven my sound was right about the time I got RotD and replacing all the sound caps on my board helped a lot.

I'm pretty sure it's the normal sound. I thought the same thing when I first bought it. It's just like matrimelee.
