NEO GEO FLASH EFFECT PROBLEM

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a small problem I have...I have an RCA 20" inch TV. My Neo Geo is hooked up through an A/V cable. For some reason my TV doesn't really have a Video1 or Video2 mode and it says that in the manual that you are to use channel 00 for video hook ups like VCRs and stuff. When Im playing my Neo Geo and a game uses some sort of flash effect (example: Metal Slug 3 shotgun blast or clashing swords in Samurai Shodown 2)my entire screen flashs for a second and distorts (scrambled looking) and then goes back to normal. This is extremely annoying and I was wondering if anyone had a similar TV or a similar problem who knows how to correct this. Thanks very much.
